Green” a former Lakers Basketball Star. We raised over $57,000 that night and over $11,000 for our “Stand Up For Kids” fund. Everyone love the festive Christmas atmosphere of the event. The Club Youth Choir performed singing some of their old and several holiday songs. John Borack from Time Warner Cable presented the Club Video which was the Words of Children. The members were asked several questions, such as why you like to the Club. This video was an eye opener to a child’s life at the Club and made several of us cry.

On July 1, 2007 the Club received a donation in the amount of $5,000 from Union Pacific Foundation for our Outreach Transportation Program. This program provides elementary and junior high students with safe transportation to the Club daily. We have been providing this service to the community for more than 20 years. These funds will be used for youth transportation scholarships and help us to cover the rising cost of fuel.

Union Pacific has a long-standing commitment to improve the quality of life in the communities they serve and where their employees live and work. Their vision is that Union Pacific employees will take pride in their community’s civic leadership and that their customers and shareholders will appreciate and recognize Union Pacific as an excellent corporate citizen.

We thank you Robert Turner, President of Union Pacific Foundation and employees of Union Pacific Railroad for caring about the children in and around the Stanton community. Your donation will help us to serve more children in a safe and positive way.

On March 27, 2007 the Boys & Girls Clubs in Orange County and Los Angeles County were invited to Disneyland Resorts for a special presentation. It was a great day for all of us with each Club receiving 50 Disneyland Hopper Tickets and $5,000. Two Clubs received a special gift and that was a new Club van for transportation of members. One for each area, Orange County Club was Boys & Girls Club of Anaheim and Los Angeles was Variety Club.

What a fun and exciting day for all of us and after the presentation we could stay at Disneyland and be a kid again. As they say, Disney is the Happiest Place on Earth.
